The Sabbath Day

Today was Sunday and we went to Church this morning from 9-12. Barb and I are in charge of the bulletin for the service and so we handed them out just before the meeting started. I print them off on Saturday night.

Today was Ward Conference, so we heard talks from our Bishop (Matthew Bradley) and our Stake President (David Cottrell). I heard a lesson in High Priest from Bro Santos who is a high counselman from our ward and is from Brazil. He has some trouble with English, but I have met few men who have a stronger spirit. It was an amazing lesson and even though I couldn’t understand some of the words he spoke, I understood the spirit and was edified.

This afternoon, we went Home-Teaching to all four of our families. It is the last Sunday of the month and this has been a crazy month with no other opportunity to do it, so we did all four today. I have a list of names that we home teach. I’ll put that in later after I find the list. On family we visit is the Bishop’s family. We joke that we must be the best home teachers in the ward since Barb and I have home taught the last three Bishops over the last several years. Wouldn’t they assign the best to the bishop? I think so.

All in all, a wonderful and spiritual day. Tonight Barb and I read 1 Nephi 12 and then the first chapter of “The Continuous Atonement” by Brad Wilcox. It’s the second time, we are reading that book. It is fantastic and puts the sin that we do in proper perspective. That’s all for tonight.
